If the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro
could talk, it would say, “Look at me now.” That’s because the sixth-gen
model has been extensively remodeled from the bottom up with new
engines, an upgraded interior, and an entirely new look that comes by
way of a tremendous weight loss. Melting away all those extra pounds
reveals a more taut and sexy muscle car, which we take a closer look at
in the "before and after" pictures below.
By
shedding those extra pounds, the new Camaro’s attractive face really
stands out. Before it was redesigned, the Camaro’s front fascia seemed
to get lost among the extra bulk, but now we can finally see the newly
designed front grille that’s slimmer and more curved than before. The
circular headlights are now gone, replaced by new headlights that give
the Camaro a more refined look. The lower front fascia also lends a
completely different appearance as it spans much wider on the lower
front bumper. Available foglights are now LED strips instead of the
conventional round ones on the outgoing Camaro. Even though the Camaro
lost about 200 pounds, it keeps all its muscle, including its broad
shoulders. Since it now sits lower and wider, the new Camaro appears
ready to pounce.
The Camaro’s overall length shrank from 190.6 inches to 188.3, and its
wheelbase was shortened from 112.3 inches to 110.7 inches. These
differences really become apparent from the side, where we can see that
its rear end is perkier than before with an upward curve. The character
line that accentuates the Camaro’s hips remains, making the Camaro look
just as muscular.Just
like the front grille, the lower bumper at the rear also features a
slight U-curve right above the license plate housing. The integrated
spoiler is raised on the new Camaro, while newly designed taillights
complete the look.
It’s an
entirely new scene inside the cabin, where the Camaro gets sportier
touches like circular HVAC vents and a flat-bottom steering wheel. The
touchscreen display is also new, with fewer buttons and knobs than the
previous version, which featured two massive knobs. Overall, the
Camaro’s interior appears more futuristic and upscale than the previous
muscle car.

Last

last PHEV.
