P Diddy Named Highest Paid Hip Hop Star
Rapper Sean "P Diddy" Combs has topped
Forbes' list of the world's highest paid hip hop stars after pocketing
$60m (£39.2m) between June 2014 and June 2015.
The 45-year-old from Harlem beat Jay Z, Drake and Kanye West
to the top spot, as he raked in cash from investments outside music
including his TV network Revolt, clothing line Sean John and Ciroc
Vodka.Although he rarely performs these days, Combs is best known for his albums including 2001 record The Saga Continues and 2010's Last Train To Paris - and he's currently working on new music.
However, his annual earnings do not come close to the $620m (£404.7m) made by Dr Dre last year following the sale of Beats to Apple - the highest ever annual pay cheque for a musician.
Rap mogul Jay Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, trails Combs in second place, after earning an estimated $56m (£36.6m).
The Roc Nation founder, also 45, made his fortune from sport, music and lifestyle ventures - with the 22-show On The Run tour with his wife Beyonce boosting his earnings.
Canadian rapper Drake, 28, came in at number three with $39.5m (£25.8m), while Nicki Minaj was the only woman to break into the Top 10, taking the ninth spot with earnings of $21m (£13.7m).
Forbes calculated its Cash Kings list using pre-tax income figures from factors such as record sales, touring, streaming and endorsements.
