Juan Mata has picked
his all-time favourite Manchester United line-up, including the likes
of Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and Eric Cantona.
The United midfielder took to his official YouTube channel to share his views on players from the club's past and it's quite the selection."It's very difficult to pick 11 players from the whole history of Manchester United," said Mata. "[But] I think it's a great team. Very offensive but a great team."

Schmeichel played nearly 400 games for United, winning five Premier League titles and adding a Champions League win in 1999 - his final appearance for the club. "He was a very important player of the Manchester United era and they won a lot of trophies with him in the goal," said Mata.

Ferdinand, Vidic and Evra all left Manchester United in the summer of 2014 just months after Mata's arrival at the club. But with the three men playing a key role in the 2008 Champions League victory, they each left a legacy at Old Trafford.

Midfield: David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Sir Bobby Charlton and Ryan Giggs
Mata describes Scholes as "one of the best midfielders in the history of football" and finds a role for his former team-mate and current assistant manager Giggs too, the man with the most appearances of any player in United's history.

Charlton, who scored twice in United's 1968 European Cup final win, completes the midfield. "He travels with us," explained Mata. "He was an ambassador of the club, he's a legend and he deserves to be in this 11."

While acknowledging that he has "some of the best in history" from which to choose, Mata opts for the trio of Ronaldo, Cantona and Best. Ronaldo is described as "one of the biggest stars at United a few years ago" and Best, the winner of the 1968 Ballon d'Or, is referred to as "an unbelievably talented player".
